Terence J. Barna

Senior Attorney

Terence J. Barna, Esquire is a Senior Attorney and Chair of the firm’s Estate Planning and Administration Group. He specializes in legal research and writing and concentrates his practice in the areas of estate planning and administration, business and corporate law, litigation, and media law matters involving the Pennsylvania Sunshine Act and Pennsylvania Right-to-Know Law. Terry is a member of the York County Bar Association and the Pennsylvania Bar Association.

Prior to joining Latsha Davis & Marshall, P.C., Mr. Barna honed his legal skills drafting wills, administering decedent’s estates, representing nonprofit and for-profit businesses of all sizes and litigating matters with a small Central Pennsylvania law firm. As part of his media practice, he lectured on media related issues at the annual Media Lawyers Conference of the Pennsylvania NewsMedia Association. Mr. Barna has represented clients before the administrative and judicial tribunals of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, including various Courts of Common Pleas, the Pennsylvania Superior Court, the Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court, the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, the Pennsylvania Office of Open Records, the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission and the Pennsylvania Board of Finance and Revenue. Among his many writing accomplishments, Mr. Barna wrote a Brief in Opposition to a Petition for a Writ of Certiorari with the United States Supreme Court, after which the Supreme Court denied the Writ, successfully defending a claim brought against multiple media clients in Federal Court.

Mr. Barna currently volunteers as a member of the York County Literacy Council’s Advisory Board, Personnel Committee and Bylaws Committee. Terry previously served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Literacy Council, a human service organization dedicated to advancing adult literacy in York County, from 2009-2019. Prior to 2009 he served as a member of the Board of Directors of Big Brothers Big Sisters of York & Adams Counties.

Mr. Barna has been awarded the AV Preeminent Rating given by Martindale-Hubbell to lawyers with the highest ethical standing and professional ability.
