Latsha Davis & Marshall P.C. to Co-Present at the Education Law Association's 64th Annual Conference (ELA) November 9, 2018

Latsha Davis & Marshall P.C. is pleased to announce that Nicole D. Snyder, Esq. will be co-presenting at the 64th Annual Education Law Conference in Cleveland, Ohio on Friday, November 9, 2018, at the Marriott Downtown at Key Center.

Nicole will be co-presenting on the topic "BEFORE, BESIDE, & BEYOND THE ABC'S: The Legal Case for Implementing a Proactive, Preventative & Collaborative Framework of Informal Behavioral, Social-Emotional and Mental Health Interventions and Supports for Students Protected under IDEA and Section 504." Her panel will discuss the legalities of implementing a proactive, preventative & collaborative framework of informal Behavioral, Social - Emotional and Mental Health interventions and supports for students protected under IDEA and Section 504. They will review: (1) IDEA and Section 504 regulations relevant to the provisions of FAPE to qualified students with behavioral social-emotional & mental health needs; (2) Overview of case law that highlights issues requiring the need for more guidance, resources, and funding for the schools to be able to identify these disabilities appropriately; and (3) Meeting the student's needs, recommendations for schools, and considerations, built on legal, medical, and mental health research to encourage a collaborative partnership to identify problematic and dangerous behaviors early to foster a safer school environment for the entire school community.
