Latsha Davis & Marshall P.C. is pleased to announce that Sarah B. Dragotta, Esq. will be co-presenting a session entitled "Bullying and Harassment: A Primer under Federal and State law" at the Pennsylvania Bar Institute's Exceptional Children's Conference on Monday, October 8, 2018 to be held at the Lancaster Marriott Hotel.

From Federal Civil Rights laws to guidance from the U.S. Departments of Education and Justice, this presentation explains how bullying can result in a denial of a Free Appropriate Public Education for students with disabilities, including for students thought to be eligible for special education and for students with other health impairments. This presentation reviews Pennsylvania's anti-bullying laws and recent state case law. The practical aspect covers many topics, including what your school can do to prevent bullying, how to determine if a hostile environment exists, and what are the key components of an anti-bullying policy.
