Douglas C. Yohe oversees the firm’s transactional, tax and
business practice. Mr. Yohe’s practice areas include formation and
operational issues for business and non-profit organizations;
acquisitions and sales of organizations; formation of alliances
and joint ventures; real estate transactions and development;
estate planning; and federal and state tax issues. He is a
licensed title insurance agent with Commonwealth Land Title
Insurance Company. Mr. Yohe has formed horizontal and vertical
alliances and joint ventures between healthcare providers;
structured mergers and stock and asset sales of both for-profit
and non-profit organizations; and prepared agreements between
providers and physician groups. He has represented borrowers in
tax-exempt and conventional financing transactions. Mr. Yohe has
structured deferred like-kind exchanges of real estate. He has
established family limited partnerships and has advised closely
held businesses on succession planning. Mr. Yohe has worked with
development offices on planned giving and other charitable
contribution issues including charitable remainder trusts, pooled
income funds, gift annuities and contributions of real estate.
Mr. Yohe is a member of the State Bars of Pennsylvania,
North Carolina and Maryland. He is a graduate of Juniata College
(B.A.) and Wake Forest University (J.D., cum laude). He has
completed the work in the Master of Laws in Taxation program at
Georgetown University Law Center.
He is a member of the American Health Lawyers
Association and the Pennsylvania and American Bar Associations.
Mr. Yohe has lectured on transactional matters
including presentations before the American Association of Homes
and Services for the Aging, Pennsylvania Association of Non-Profit
Homes for the Aging, and the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified
Public Accountants.
